Policy Advisor, Data // The Royal Society, London, UK

The Royal Society was founded in 1660 and today is the UK’s national academy of sciences. Our mission is to use science for the benefit of humanity, and a big piece of this is to influence policy that works for everyone. The data policy team is a fantastic group of curious, empathetic and justice-oriented folks who do impactful work making sure UK government, industry and academics are making the most of data. We think critically about how data can be used to benefit society, including for the environment, in tackling misinformation, to navigate emergencies, and more.

I am a senior policy advisor on this team, now hiring a policy advisor to work with me on a new programme related to data for society. This person would also lead on work related to data and digital technology for the planet. Please share widely (particularly with networks in EU/UK) and do reach out with any questions!
